Mr Titu has been working as Consultant Coloproctologist and General Surgeon since 2007. He specialises in minimally invasive procedures such as laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery and trans-anal surgery to treat bowel cancers, diverticular disease, rectal prolapse and obstructed defaecation. He also has a special interest in haemorrhoidal disease, faecal incontinence, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and surgery for pilonidal sinus.

Mr Titu is currently the Chair of the Cheshire and Merseyside Colorectal Cancer Clinical Network Group, responsible for developing and promoting colorectal cancer care within the region.

He is also Clinical Lead for Cancer Services at Wirral University Teaching Hospital, overseeing cancer care and service delivery and development within the trust, working in partnership with primary care and regional stakeholders.

Mr Titu is Clinical Lead for Pelvic Floor Surgery at Wirral University Teaching Hospital. He introduced and chairs the Wirral Pelvic Floor MDT with the aim to offer a multidisciplinary approach to the care patients presenting with complex pelvic floor conditions: rectal prolapse, faecal incontinence and disorders of defaecation. He performs numerous surgeries for rectal prolapse, including robotic ventral mesh rectopexies, currently the most effective therapeutic option for rectal prolapse and obstructed defaecation.

Mr Titu possesses extensive experience in the endoscopic removal of large bowel polyps and is a founding member of the Merseyside and Cheshire Small and Early Rectal Tumours (SERC) MDT and of the Wirral Polyp MDT. He has one of the largest practices in colonoscopy and endoscopic polypectomy in the north-west of England, performing in excess of 500 colonoscopies annually, of which over 1/3 are therapeutic. Mr Titu is a national expert in the minimally invasive treatment for haemorrhoids (THD), performing over 100 haemorrhoidal treatments yearly and acting as a trainer for other surgeons.
